    Default Greetings

I have been listening to classical music for years now but have to admit I know very little about composers and compositions. I do know that classical moves me unlike any other music and look forward to learning more.

Welcome! I have been here for seven years and don't know much. Not the fault of this site. There is plenty of information here. I just don't absorb it very much, which I think is probably my brain shutting the door partway to potential information overload. But I do love classical music, particularly opera, but also symphonic works.

"All of Italian opera can be heard in [Bellini's] "Ah! non creda [mirarti]."
--Renata Scotto in "Scotto, More Than a DIva."

I joined five and a half years ago.
I still don't know much about classical music - but I do know much more than I did, thanks to Talk Classical!

I hope you have a wonderful time here, learning, talking, joking, swapping opinions, and reading.
I look forward to reading your posts.

    Welcome to the forum, Ossidian!

Welcome Ossidian. This music style is almost infinite. Widely recorded, widely performed and with a long and mutating tradition. One day you may find the field you love the most. So far, mine is Opera.

How do you listen to music? Streaming, headphones, HiFi, CD...?

Have a great time in Talk Classical.
