    Question How to do it? - Beethoven 6, Bird songs.

    Hi Forum,

    Does anyone know how the bird songs at the end of the 2nd mvt. is conducted?
    What's the tradition? What is better than tradition? How should it not be done?

    Thanks for any replies!

    Best,
    Thurgovia

    From the video description:

    The Nightingale - played by the Flute - with its characteristic whistle followed by an accelerating trilling sound;

    The Quail - played by the Oboe - with its trisyllabic song

    The Cuckoo - played by the Clarinet
    ---
    No tempo changes are indicated in the score but there are a number of important dynamic markings for the above three instruments that lead to the final fermata (stop) at the end of the 2nd movement.
