    Default Spam spam spam

OK I'll admit it, the metal threads are far far less annoying than all these spam posts that have swamped the TC site this morning.

Aren't there procedures from preventing this type of thing ?

Yes, there are procedures from preventing a Spam Bot or other fully automated bots from making spam postings. The relatively few spam postings we see here are created by human users, who have nothing better to do with their lives than be annoying.

If users notice a spam posting, simply click on the red triangle at the upper right of the SPAM posting. All forum staff members will receive a private email notifying us of the problem. We can usually react within 12 hours, often sooner. Those who post SPAM are, in most all cases, immediately banned and ALL their posts removed.

You don't have to report every single posting by the same spammer - one report is quite sufficient as the admin team can "see" all the spam posts and delete them all in one mouse click.

Replying to a SPAM thread only supports the spammer and gives them more attention. Best advice on SPAM postings is to not reply and just report it.

Ps: the multiple postings of a new user have been deleted and the user permanently banned. We see several people "replied" to that spammer which accomplishes nothing. When the spam posts are removed, so are the replies to the spam postings ... and the members post count is also reduced commensurate with the number of replies made to the spam posting.

Bottom line ... please don't reply to SPAM ... just report it. Thanks

Everyone seems to be concerned with post count now
