The forum is a wonderful venue for just that. But ... every site I know of has their fair share of ... shall we say ... special people ... that someone just gets fed up with and prefers not to read their posts anymore. They still see that the other person posted but will not see the content unless they so desire by checking a box for that post only.
I love that - special people. Would that refer to the school they went to?

I was attempting to be as generic as possible.

TC conversation is like a tapestry. For me, it's at its best and most interesting when pieces are not cut out of it.

I decided a long time ago I could never be a moderator because I secretly tried to make decisions in certain situations and they turned out to be wrong.

But the "special people" who are very explicit about their shenanigans are the easy ones to deal with. It's the ones who have a special knack on how far to push the line without going over it that's more difficult.

Agree. It is a very difficult job and I suspect can and often does consume considerable time for the moderator.
