Alban Berg quartet for Brahms, yes they show that progressive Brahms thing (Schoenberg dixit).

Are there only the recordings for Teldec? I agree, very good.

Does anyone have the Fine Arts Quartet Schumann disc on Naxos? I like the samples I heard. Still trying to decide which one to spring for. I also liked the Engegård Quartet samples I checked out, but I don't like BIS prices.

I have the Fine Arts. It's very good.
My favorite is the Engegard on BIS, but the Naxos is good as well.

fwiw, my favorite Brahms quartet set is the Takacs on a Double Decca.
One of their very best recordings.
The Tokyo is also very fine.
When all else fails, listen to Thick as a Brick.

I have the Alban Berg Quartett for Brahms on Teldec. I like it, but I haven't really done the deep dive on these works yet.
