Bulldog: I think we should implement the requirement that composers be added at the bottom. It makes more sense, especially as the list gets larger. Just my opinion.

I'll give changing the current rule serious thought.

    A rule change is warranted:

When adding a composer, you must place that composer at the bottom of the list.

Well, I'm blushing! Even though I'm the second one... :-)

Anyway, this game is flawed by design, I believe. There will always be several groups of fans of particular composers or periods and these groups will move up or down their favorite composers without end (or they will stop, when they will be fed up). I, for example, will always want in the top ten some renaissance and avantguarde composers. To move Ligeti or Schoenberg at the bottom of the list is simply unacceptable for me. I consider them as important as Mozart, Bach or Beethoven. Same with Josquin, Ockeghem or Lassus. On top of that, I suspect some listeners that they simply don't know some periods in-depth.

I suggested this at the very beginning. I'm afraid it is much too late to fix this game now.

I'm optimistic. It's very early in the game, and I believe there's abundant time for the list to get balanced.

More important in my mind is that each day I vote, I have the opportunity to make the board more to my liking; my choices are numerous.

Also, I don't mind saying the current list is pretty good. Look at the top ten - all masterful composers. That I don't personally like all of them is irrelevant. Actually, every composer on the list, with one or two exceptions, is from the cream of the crop.
