    Default Still can't search

Thanks to those who answered my previous thread "Using Search" - but I still lack success, using google.

(Why did they lock that thread so soon? Now I have to start this new one.)

    I literally typed into google:

    "https://www.talkclassical.com/61288-fooling-mother-nature-14.html#post1641010 overpopulation"

and am getting no results even though the word "overpopulation" appears many times in the thread Fooling with Mother Nature.

    Same result with:

    "https://www.talkclassical.com/61288-fooling-mother-nature-14.html#post1641010" overpopulation

Then I tried leaving off the quotes. I got a result, the first instance of "overpopulation" on page 3. But it didn't find all the other instances. Just returned random threads on the site without the word "overpopulation" (crossed out).

You should start the google search with the term site:
immediately followed by the url [space] keyword

Note also that you need to use the url of the thread, not of the post as you do in your example.

I cannot quote an example, because it automatically converts my typing to a link.

    Try:

    site:talkclassical.com "fooling with" overpopulation

With Bing, it gives exactly the desired results.

You are making it too complicated. Here is how I would find that thread on google. Type in,

    talkclassical.com fooling mother nature

Bing does return multiple results, which google still isn't even after I took some further advice from you all. I thought the first instance of the word "overpopulaion" came sooner in the thread than bing shows, but I'm probably wrong and I'm not going to bother checking it.

This thread is all about searching and nothing about music. Accordingly, it is terminated with extreme prejudice. Participants have been awarded substantial penalty points, but its more fun to not tell them how many.

    Thanks to all.
The question was answered in the other thread. All to often such threads then become an avenue for general chit-chat and then the thread gets derailed.

We'll leave this one open, for the time being.

I get the need to eliminate chitchat, but posting a couple of answers in a short time doesn't necessarily equate to "problem solved" for the originator.
