Default Hi, I'm new to your world.

    Hello Forum,

    This is Roshan, from India.

I'm fairly new to the whole classical music scene and have made my way, so far, only through YouTube recommendations. But I fell so much in love with some of the compositions/styles/artists that I knew I had to find a community that could introduce me to a whole smorgasbord of new stuff.

From my limited exposure, here are the people whose music I enjoy:

    Maurice Ravel
    Ludovico Einaudi
    Gábor Szabó
    Jacqueline du Pré
    Antonio Vivaldi
    Claude Debussy
    Francisco Tárrega

I know the list is a little bit all over the place and it's not very much to go on, but could you wise folks please recommend other music you think I might enjoy, based on this?

Thank you. Here's to frickin' melody, may it always reign supreme.

Greetings to you Vivaldi will be a good introduction to music of the Baroque Era, and Ravel/Debussy will offer a fine 20th century contrast to that. Go for Rimsky-Korsakov and his Scheherazade. It's a fun listen.

For melody try the French baroque composers, Couperin, Marias, and others. You may like the viol if you like Dupre, so check out Jordi Savall, who specializes in early music of the Mediterranean region.

May you enjoy your musical journey. I started about 12 years ago and haven't regretted a second of it.
