Default Game (nominations): say hello to the cello

In this game, the cello takes center stage. You can nominate three compositions per day in which the cello plays a major role (three different composers). As a guideline, these are compositions where one would expect the cello player to have a (co-) leading role and be mentioned separately on the CD (back) cover - so, no string quartets, string quintets etc. No "bleeding chunks", only complete works (e.g. not "Dvorak - Movement 1 from cello concerto") - no lumping of works either (e.g. not "Bach - Cello suites"). No transcriptions unless authorized/done by the composer. In all cases, final decision is with me. I'm capping nominations at max 10 per composer, so choose wisely.

Please use the format as below for your nominations to ease my work.

    My picks for today:

    Bach, JS - Cello suite 1 BWV1007
    Finzi - Cello concerto
    Strauss, R - Don Quixote

Nope. I know we all know this piece now as one for cello and piano, but it was composed for arpeggione and piano and transcribed posthumously.

On second thoughts, it's in. This is not the type of transcription I wanted to rule out. I'll check the rest later.
