There are sixteen images within the first 11 posts which never experience the rendering difficulties within posts 12 and 13 and nine images in the last two which again have never experienced a failure to appear.

Both of the posts were created on days in which the server was being temperamental - I would reckon that is the issue - something within each post fails to reliably point to the location within the post which contains the image.... It's either that or my username...

I've been running Edge since Windows 10 first appeared. "In the Beginning" it was hit or miss if Edge could open a giving web page. It was clunky and unintuitive. I keep a copy of Chrome for the pages that Edge wouldn't open. Since then, Edge has matured. I never encounter a page it won't open. Either Edge is more intuitive now or I have become accustomed to it.

I can't see why anyone in their right mind would still be using IE. MS stopped updating it years ago and may or may not be patching the worst security holes. If you like Chrome or whatever, more power to you, but remember that Edge is running in the background and using up recourses. However,

Yes I see the missing pictures with Edge.

Just spent 30 minutes creating a new post in Historical Opera Singers and once again the photos appear, disappear, and reappear at random. When you log on 3 of the 4 will appear, refresh the page and 2 of the 3 will disappear, refresh the page all three disappear. Log off and then back on, rinse and repeat...

We are not testing vBulletin v5 on TC. I think I mentioned being a member of another forum who had switched to v5 recently and it had, and still has, lots of problems.

I am quite certain that, for the time being, we will stay with our current vBulletin version. It's up to Frederik - he has the final say in those matters, since he is the one paying for this site to exist.

I haven't had the "missing picture" problem in a long time and when I did have it, it didn't last very long but I did notice that when it did happen the pictures that were missing would be from the same people.

Thank you for the reply - any idea as to why I'm still experiencing the issues mentioned in the first post? - Some members see the photographs each time, others see none, some see a variety of combinations in which those viewed and those missing change with neither rhyme nor reason.

The choice of browser doesn't seem to be a factor as both Edge and Chrome users claim that they can/cannot see the images. So far, no one using Firefox has answered.

Checking your link directly after one another:

    Chrome - no issues
Edge - pictures in post 12 and 13 do not show up
Firefox - pictures in post 12 and 13 do not show up
Allüberall und ewig blauen licht die Fernen! Ewig ... ewig ...

Posts 12 and 13 are still erratic and now posts 39, 40, 41, 42, and 43 are also displaying a variety of results - no photos, partial, and all photos appearing (Note: "all photos appearing happens only once - upon first posting - after that they're more likely to disappear rather than make an appearance.

Microsoft Edge is the browser being used but I installed Chrome and the issues with photos remain. I may have to take a pass on continuing this thread as it takes quite a bit of time to collect the material used, add the graphics, and format the text only to submit the post and find that only text with clickable links exists rather then the embedded photos.

Why this is happening in literally one thread rather than graphics-heavy threads like "Current Listening -Classical" or "Non-Classical Current Listening" is just completely beyond me. Elgar's Ghost successfully posts up to five photos in his listening project posts and they're real beauties - same with Senza Sordino and his work in NCM - I'm puzzled as to why it can be done in those thread repeatedly and yet this one is as temperamental as the singers profiled.

How odd, eh? - Thank you, Enthusiast, my friend!

I'm going to install Chrome, create the pages here using that, and then see what the results might be. It's quite obvious that by creating the pages with Edge something is being lost when rendering the page.

    Once again,

Update - installed Chrome - no difference whatsoever - images do not appear; refresh - some appear, others disappear; refresh - last five posts in thread do not display photos.

I may have to take a pass on this thread as there are issues here which apparently cannot be resolved. It's a mystery as to why some Chrome users have no difficulties while others such as myself do not notice any improvement.

Update: five minutes later - all photos in all posts appear - I will continue to monitor this situation - hope all works out as I rather enjoy the thread.

Whenever I post a YouTube video, I always post the written-out URL link code, as well as imbedding it. That way, in case somebody can't see the imbedded one, they can use the link.

I used to use images from Amazon, but now I use images I have scanned into my computer, as long as I have the CD. That way, the link won't ever disappear, like it might on Amazon. I scan my images at 200 dpi, which is plenty good for these purposes. I can "touch up" the images, too.
