    The C minor Prelude and Fugue from Book One is one of my favorite Bach prelude/fugues.

    I'm not sure I understand your question correctly.

    It's a 3-voice fugue, and the alto (middle) voice starts it off, followed by the soprano voice. This seems obvious, so I'm thinking that I'm not answering the question you've intended.

    Yes, the alto is dux, than the soprano is comes, and the bass is dux. The next comes with the tenor is missing, since it is 3 part fugue.
