[QUOTE=Varick;1793380]For the past few years I have been using Opera as my navigator. In the past 9 months or so, increasingly there are problems on many web sites with Opera. Even here, the "Reply with Quote" and the "
" function no longer works with Opera, so I have gone back to I.E. with ever more frequency.

However, with I.E., no one's avatars show up here. I went to settings and have checked the box "Display Avatars" but still nothing. Any ideas? Odd thing, is that Avatars DO show up in when I'm here with Opera.

    Thank you in advance.

I have (had, they're on hiatus) three threads that contain posts with three to four photos within each.

When I was using Edge as my browser three-quarters of the photos wouldn't appear when I accessed the thread. I would refresh the page and the photos would remain random in their appearance.

I switched to Chrome and it's been largely without problems however occasionally a third of the photos will not appear - after a single refresh all would appear and there wouldn't be any further difficulties.

IE is long out of date and most likely will not render the page properly - I would take a pass on both IE and Opera and install Chrome in its place. It's an easy install and should solve your problems -

Are you using the "desktop" or "mobile" style as your default display option? That option is on the bottom ribbon of any page ... there is a pull down menu.

Yeah, you need to make 10 posts to be able to have a profile picture and avatar. Once you do that, the options should be in your settings. Welcome to Talk Classical!

Yes, at least 10 posts in any of the Classical Music forum areas. Posts submitted in the Community Forum do not count in that requirement.

Once you have completed the required 10 posts (in any of the Classical Music forum threads) ... AND ... repeat, and, up to 12 hours has elapsed since the 10th posting, regardless of how many more posts greater than 10 have been submitted, you will then gain access to your profile.

The "up to 12 hours" is to allow all the database tables to update, and that task is performed once every 12 hours automatically at random times.

So are the signatures supposed to show up under the members' posts? I don't see anyone's signature unless I go to their profile. Why is this?

See your own settings under my profile.

Oh wow, I didn't realize there was a setting to make them not show up!
    Thanks!
