    Default Avatar, Signature problems

Need some help. I don't know how to get my avatar (picture) showing on my profile. Not sure if it's supposed to show on each post I do either. I have made 17 posts.
Also, I see someone asked about their Signature not showing up on their posts. I don't see a place on my Profile to put in my Signature. Appreciate the help.

Go to settings - the menu at the top of screen - and you will all the bits about editing your profile to put up an avatar or a profile picture or to say something about yourself or a signature.

Thanks. My avartar now shows on my profile, but not next to my posts. I put in my signature but that also doesn't appear with my posts. I shut down my computer & restart as suggested to another person. Any advice?

Kindly allow up to 24 hours for all the database tables to update with the new avatar.

As to the signature, you have selected to NOT display signatures. You can change that in your profile settings.

You've set a profile picture not an avatar. Have a look at settings again.

Thanks. I've changed my signature to just my website. I see there is a difference between avatar and profile pic. -- Can I get my profile pic. to come up next to my posts?

It's there now thanks. I only have a picture and that won't appear next to my posts--only an avatar. All the other forums I belong to treat the two as the same.

We are using an older version of vBulletin and that could be why. Are the other forums using vBulletin and if so what version?

We are not likely to update our version as this one is working quite nicely and any new updated version would require updating EVERY hack (some hacks are good things - they run background programs that help update database tables) to make them work with a newer version of vBulletin. The cost for those updates is enormous.

We are a privately owned forum and one person alone is footing all the present costs of operating this site.

For the past few years I have been using Opera as my navigator. In the past 9 months or so, increasingly there are problems on many web sites with Opera. Even here, the "Reply with Quote" and the "[quote]" function no longer works with Opera, so I have gone back to I.E. with ever more frequency.

However, with I.E., no one's avatars show up here. I went to settings and have checked the box "Display Avatars" but still nothing. Any ideas? Odd thing, is that Avatars DO show up in when I'm here with Opera.

    Thank you in advance.

Avatars show fine in Edge, which these days has very few problems across a big range of sites. Still, there's the occasional glitch. The fill-in text boxes for Ondine's free Brahms album wouldn't accept any typing from Edge. I loaded the page into Firefox and it worked fine... Go figure.
