    No, you're forever screwed.

    Thank you, come again.

Had to look this up. To be ”rickrolled” means that upon clicking a link you are redirected to a music video by Rick Astley, a name blessedly unfamiliar to me. I have never been, and do not expect ever to be, “rickrolled.” And so of course it happens to me exactly as often on this forum as anywhere else, which is to say, never.

Were I to be rickrolled, though, I would first suspect some sort of viral infection, and probably not one originating in Wuhan.

I've clicked on those three links multiple times. I get the real deal each time, so have to believe it is not an issue with vBulletin.

I would chance the problem is with Google and/or users not dumping their cache of cookies every couple days.

It looks like you are the only one affected by this. It makes sense then that the cause is on your side, and not on the TC side. I would do a full virus scan, and also a full malware scan (in both cases make sure you have updated versions).

I clicked on all three youtube links, the first two originally worked and the third was a rickroll. However, when I click the third link a different time, it takes me to the correct video.

    Why does this happen?

Is there something up with vBulletin that leads this to happen?

Why does this only happen some of the time and not all of the time?

It's like Russian roulette, but instead of a bullet in one of six chambers, every few video links happens to be a rickroll instead.
Jess, you need to tell us exactly where you are on the forum when this happens - exactly which thread and which post - otherwise it's impossible to give you the kind of answer that you're seeking.

I too clicked on all of the links that you provided and each resolves itself as intended.

Keep track of where you're at within the forum - write down the thread and post - and return with the information the next time you get rickrolled as no one has been able to recreate this occurrence and until someone can there isn't anything that can be done.

Each post has a number at the top right and side of it that you can tell which post your on.

Next time it happens, do some page sourcing and try to find the corrupt link in the html code for the page you found it on. If you see nothing suspicious there, then it could be something viral in your system.

One bad link can not only rickroll you once but also plant something that continues to do so. If your assurance that you have no virus is because you have Apple products, that's not a complete guarantee.

Generally it's good advice to avoid clickbait especially from sources you have no reason to trust. On some systems can also examine the link to see what it actually does before getting spoofed.

I just hope I don't get "jessiemandered," which means upon clicking a link you are redirected to a music video by Rick Springfield.
