No, it's a Bb. It looks wrong and it sounds wrong, but it's right - Vaughan Williams.

I like his recorder, violin and cello concertos/sonatas. Well, some of them, haven't heard them all, obviously Great composer!

edt: oh, and his mandolin concertos are pretty good too

I would have to go for his Sacred Choral Music which would include the Glorias.

Although I don’t have a broad knowledge of Vivaldi’s repertoire, I have a special fondness for him because it was “The Four Seasons” that introduced me to the world of classical music. His work has been described as “spirited and extroverted” which quite a bit like me, maybe that’s why I enjoy his music so much.

My list is quite brief, although I intend to remedy that shortly:

    1. Concerto for Violin and Strings in G Minor, Op. 8, No. 2, RV 315 "L'estate" (Summer)
    2. Concerto for Violin and Strings in F Minor, Op. 8, No. 4, RV 297 "L'inverno" (Winter)
    3. Concerto for Two Violins, Strings, and Basso continuo in A minor, Op. 3, No. 8, RV 522 "L'estro Armonico"
    4. Concerto for Violin in C Minor, RV 199 "Il Sospetto"
    5. Concerto for Violin, Cello and Strings in G Major, RV 413

When I have more free time, I may check out the operas you listed.

The best Vivaldi for me are the mandolin concertos and the guitar concertos. They always seem lively and beautiful whereas the violin concertos are more than a little repetitive to my ears.

    I like that as well...

I just love his concerti overall. Especially his bassoon and violin concerti.

Not a big fan of 4 seasons but Gloria without a doubt comes first off my favorites of Vivaldi.

Vivaldi, huh? I like his 4 seasons but only a handful of recordings. Some of his violin concertos, and his vespers. To me, a lot of his other work sounds the same.

Except for the Four seasons, I prefer his operas. I have not tested some of his better-known operas like the Farnace or the Orlando furioso yet. The first 2 acts of the La fida ninfa were a real hit parade for me, almost all arias are wonderful.

    1. Four Seasons
    2. La fida ninfa
    3. Motezuma
    4. Bajazet (pasticcio)
    5. Giustino
    6. Ercole su'l Termodonte
    7. L'Olimpiade
    8. La Silvia (not complete)
    9. L'incoronazione di Dario
    10. Arsilda

I haven't listened to any Vivaldi operas, but I have never actually heard a Vivaldi composition that I haven't loved. He's phenomenal. My favourite piece of all is his Stabat Mater.

My absolute favourite is Vivaldi's sacred music.
