    Default Greetings All!

    Hello All!

I wanted to introduce myself! As you can guess by my username, I'm a big fan of Wagner. I've been lurking on these forums without an account for some time now, and have enjoyed reading through some of the great discussions about his dramas. Now since I'm stuck indoors for the foreseeable future, I thought it would be fun to join in on all the fun!

I'm a film student based out of NYC (although, sadly elsewhere for the time being until things calm down up there). I'm actively involved with some of the Wagner-related functions which take place up there, and have been desperately missing the ability to partake in that fun since I've been away. I love attending the Met and the NY Philharmonic when I can (which is made easier with some student programs and discounted ticket values), and have really enjoyed getting immersed in that wonderful music world during my time there. I enjoy other composers too-- especially the other late romantics like Mahler and Strauss, along with all the great masters of old too! And of course, I have my love for some of the great film composers too!

I look forward to speaking to those who I have seen on here so far, as well as those who I have not yet had the opportunity to meet yet! I can't wait to share in my love of music with you all, and to hear and learn from you all as well!

    Hello.

Welcome to the forum. I'm a Wagner fan also. Such beautiful music!

You've come at the perfect time now that we're all stuck inside for awhile.

I'm sure you'll enjoy it here.

damn, lucky you to be able to go to the MET and NY Phil regularly! I have only been to New York once, and I went to Rigoletto at the MET which was incredible!! I also watched the Ring Cycle recently since it was broadcast free from the MET, and that was just amazing. What are your favourite things you have seen at the MET?

Welcome Wotan! Just finished listening to The Ring for the umpteenth time myself (Karajan this time). You'll enjoy the forum. It's mostly harmless.
I treat my music like I treat my pets. It’s something to own, care about and curate with attention to detail. From a blog by hjr.

Welcome to TalkClassical, Wanderer. I adore Wagner though I don't often have time to listen to full operas. I grew up in NYC but left before I became a classical music lover. The opportunities to hear wonderful music are fantastic there.

    Hello Wagnerer. Enjoy your stay...
    'Listen, Mister god!
    Isn't it boring
    to dip your puffy eyes,
every day, into a jelly of clouds?'
