    Default Hello!

Hi, my name is Christina. I went to Loyola University New Orleans for piano/organ and singing. I changed to violin at age 29. I just turned 34 this month. I've had 5 teachers and now am teaching myself. I might go back to school. I guess I should wait until I'm more advanced. So, I started being interested in singing at age 5. I started being interested in violin at age 6. I was put in piano lessons at age 9 since I played for fun by ear etc. I was in church choir age 8-20 mostly. In high school, I played keyboard for 3 musicals and accompanied 3 Catholic masses fake book style. I practiced rather well until I left Florida and had a hard time doing the homework or busywork. I progressed with the help of incitement from things like Talented Music. I had to leave college and lost my house in the New Orleans area in Hurricane Katrina. I've been singing all these years mostly but lost the strength of my singing voice by not talking much for over a year. I got a keyboard but no piano and didn't get to do organ. I did consider film acting, posted online trying to be an extra or something in Pirates of the Caribbean and talked to fans online. I also liked ballet and dancing and took ballet once a week mostly age 12+. I took it at the supposedly advanced level in college. I hope to move to Germany. I want to learn German and attend concerts. I could also learn violin more through resources I know are there.. A dream would be to be in a classical orchestra and sometimes get parts in ensembles.

Welcome to Talk Classical, Christina! Enjoy the forum. It's mostly harmless.
I treat my music like I treat my pets. It’s something to own, care about and curate with attention to detail. From a blog by hjr.

You set your goals high, that's the right attitude.
    Welcome by the way.

    Welcome, Christina!

You certainly have a great dream and I urge you to continue to pursue it regardless of the inevitable obstacles. As Casey Kasem used to say "Keep your feet on the ground and keep reaching for the stars."
