Default Request: New sub-forum in the Opera section

Would it be possible to create a sub-forum in the Opera section for YouTube threads?

There are so many of them in the general opera forum that discussion threads get buried very quickly, and members find it difficult to navigate the main discussion:

    Too Many YouTube Video Threads

An "Opera on YouTube" sub-forum will be handy for the daily threads (lots of activity) and also for posting interesting things people find on YouTube (of which there is plenty). Seems like there would be enough activity to justify a separate sub-forum.

I think this is an excellent idea. The discussion has really suffered and I think this solution would benefit everyone :-)

I think threads that are discussion based, but include YouTube videos should remain where they are. The videos definitely add to the discussion in most cases. But the threads that are nothing but YouTube videos, such as favorite aria, male aria, female aria, overture, duet, chorus, mezzo arias, soprano aria, and the YouTube thread itself etc should be moved to the new sub-forum imo.

Yeah there's bound to be some overlap, discussion threads with videos posted in them and so on, but threads that are specifically about a video or videos on YouTube would go into this new sub-forum.

Maybe it will end up being just the daily activity threads, but with so much interesting opera content on YouTube I see plenty of opportunity for YT-based threads.

Combining all the daily YT threads into a single "Currently watching on YouTube" thread would also solve the problem, but might be difficult to manage.

I agree with this request and think it would work best along the lines that Bonetan has suggested. Not all threads with YouTube videos in need to go into the YouTube sub-forum, just the daily postings of YouTube videos.

The major problem I can foresee with this is that we will wind up with two similar discussion forums for Opera, one with videos and another without, with many threads covering the same topics.

Quite often there is discussion following a video post; so where does that "discussion" get placed, in the Opera Video or Opera Non-Video fora? There would be overlap for sure.

Why the need to post the videos? Why not just the link?

The issue here I gather from the other post on the subject is the existence of many threads in the opera forum that are posted to almost every day by the same member. No discussion, just video after video after video (would a blog not be more suited for that?). I had about eight of these threads open for linking here, but they crashed my browser.
