    Default Name of piece/composer

    Hi all,

I'm looking for the name of a certain piece. Its really hard to describe since it has no lyrics, obviously! I'll try my best though, because it is driving me mad and I really want to get hold of this piece. Its really famous, quiet a dramatic piece. I thought it had been used in the Disney movie 'Fantasia' but any searching I've done on it has produced nothing. It ends with three big cymbal crashes interspersed with high pitched violin notes. I'm probably not doing a very good job of describing this but hopefully someone will know what I'm talking about! As I said, its an extremely famous and well known and well used piece. I don't even know the composer, unfortunately. It may have been used some years ago in a Yoplait yoghurt commercial, but I may be confusing it with The Sorcerer's Apprentice in that instance. If anyone has any idea of the piece I'm talking about, I'd be so very grateful if they could identify it for me!

    Thanks in advance!

Poor LaineyL, your question has gone unanswered for over 10 years and you haven't posted since... After reading through your description of the mystery piece I think the closest possible guess would be "In the Hall of the Mountain King" by Edvard Grieg. It is rather famous, has never been used in fantasia, could possibly be confused with "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" and ends with multiple cymbal crashes. Hopefully this answers your question and you can finally get a good night's sleep.
