    Default Ignore

If you put someone on your ignore list are they aware that you have done so?

Probably not, but if you private message me, I'll know. (I already know you've gone around liking every post you can find that is critical of any point I might be making at the time in whatever thread I might have participated, so that's OK: I already got the hint).

I thought you had a real life to live, though. Seems a lot of effort to go to instead of living it...

Anyway, the serious answer is that you marking someone to be ignored is a decision for you and you alone, not for the ignoree. Therefore, the ignoree doesn't get to know about whatever personal animus you might have about them unless you specifically go out of your way to tell them.

No, they aren't being informed about it.

Placing someone on your ignore list prevents you from seeing their posts (although you can see that they have posted something) and it prevents them from sending PMs to you. The member on ignore would have no idea that you cannot see their posts, but they might realize something is odd if they specifically ask questions which are not answered. I don't know what happens if they try to send a PM (i.e. do they get a message that the PM can't be delivered or do they see nothing special).

To add: The administrators or forum staff do NOT have the capability to see who(m) has ignored who(m).

Any user has the option to refuse PM's in their profile page. So, yes, a message would appear that the user is not accepting PM's ... not necessarily meaning that the sender is on their ignore list.

I dont think they are and sometimes I wish there is an option here to fully block someone from seeing you...The current option only allows you to not see someone but he can see all you post and share...

Unless you post in the members only area, anybody can see what you post by coming on as a guest. There is no point in blocking a user from seeing you, unless we made the forum private which would be a shame because we attract new members when they see what a useful resource the forum is.
Music begins where words leave off. Music expresses the inexpressible.

There’s also no point in blocking someone unless you are saying something you don’t want them to see? Too much personal drama here (I know it’s unavoidable) but if we are talking about music then why prevent that person from seeing your post?

I’d like to think that most personal rifts between people could be healed with music.

I'm so egocentric I put every single forum user into the ignore list, my self included...

(silly ignore list. If you don't like somebody don't read him/her)
