    Default Greetings to you all

I have been lurking on this forum for a few years now, and recently decided to join.

Piano concertos (and to a lesser extent other concerto types) are probably my favourite genre, followed by symphonies and tone poems. Recently I’ve been getting more and more into exploring chamber music and solo piano repertoire. Opera is outside of my interest range at the moment (or feels too intimidating to explore), but we’ll see.

I’m overall most fond of the romantic era, thouch classical and baroque eras have recently started to click with me as well. My very favourite composers include at least Tchaikovsky, Glazunov, Beethoven, Mozart, Haydn, Liszt, Brahms, Dvorak, and Shostakovich. I also have an interest in film music, though I realize that to be a slightly different genre in certain ways (I particularly love Rozsa, Williams, and Goldsmith).

I have no musical training nor do I play any instrument.

Looking forward to intersting discussions with you.

I have at least these CDs from that series, unless I forget one or two:

    - Arensky/Bortkiewicz,
    - Scharwenka 4 / Sauer
    - Scharwenka 2 & 3
    - Scharwenka 1 / Rubinstein 4
    - Rozycki
    - Gounod
    - Busoni
    - Sinding / Alnaes
    - Moszkowski 1 / Schulz-Evler

Of the concertos represented in this series, I also have on other labels Marx, Korngold, Moszkowski 2, Paderewski & Polish Fantasy, Glazunov 1 & 2, Dohnanyi 1 & 2, Medtner 1-3, Lyapunov’s 1-2 & Ukrainian Rhapsody, and Balakirev 1. Tchaikovsky and Saint-Saens too, but those are obviously much more well-known.

Wow you really are a devotee of Romantic PCs. I am going to use your list to sample a few. I didn’t realize that there was a Korngold PC
