    Default Difference between DVD-players

I'm not sure if this is the right place for my question, but it seemed to be the closest one. Are there differences between DVD-players in the length of the gap during which everything freezes when they change from reading one layer of a DVD to another? It doesn't bother me so much in movies, but it's really annoying during, let's say, an opera aria!

I have Toshiba SD-4960SC, Philips DVP5140, and Sony Blu-ray BDP-S360. Respectively in responsiveness, I'd describe them as Good, Better, Best.

I also have two conventional DVD-players and a bluray player, but I cannot see any difference between them.
