    Default Greetings from Norway

Hello. My name is Mathias, and I'm a seventeen year old boy from Norway. I've been listening to classical music most of my life, but I haven't thought of joining a forum to discuss it before now. I'm sure it'll be nice.

    Welcome Mathias.

The members here are lovely. I can't discuss very much with them because I don't have their knowledge, but I enjoy reading their points of view and learning from them. I enjoy the overall sound of music, I can't dissect it as they do. I'm in awe most of the time.

I think you'll be happy here, I know that I am.

I'm frightened out of my wits with some of them, I can tell you. I mean, they just make me feel so stupid at times. I got into a load of trouble with K.... last weekend, did you see? I'm still suffering from acute embarrassment over it. There's me waffling on about all this rubbish about Schumann, and he just cuts through it all with a big metronome and I'm clobbered. I know my place from now on!

    Cheers.

Ah, welcome. There seems to be quite a few young people on these forums now... It's very good to see.

Count me in among them. I'm 18. And people say young people can't appreciate classical music.

Norway, W O W! ! ! Edward Grieg was the first to turn me on to Classical with his 'In the Hall of the Mountain King'. His piano works are still highly underated unfortunetly. Hans von Bulow called him "The Chopin of the North".
