Absolutely must watch in the highest res your computer can handle. The reactions of the cast when she hits an Ab (with several Gs as well) are almost infinitely rewatchable. Her voice needs a touch more polish, but what a debut! Seems the crowd thinks so as well -- a minute+ ovation that is still going strong when the video cuts off.

Kaufmann looks underwhelmed but I love the shots of SK. He looks totally at home then can't resist a bit of Acting.

I know opinions vary for Ms. Damrau, but seeing the evolution of her voice (and not seeing but inferring the tremendous amount of work that she must have put into it) is amazing. The first clip, her voice is no better than a decent high school singer, one who might make it into a high school musical but probably not as the lead. While what you mentioned is part of what I use YouTube for, it's not all. YouTube is a great source for old records and for a way to connect with the great voices of the past that are not that accessible for the beginner unless the person wants to spend hundreds - make it thousands - of dollars in purchasing expensive old records and collectible items.

By the way, there are entire operas on YouTube too, including, from productions that haven't been made commercially available yet. I recently saw a modern staging of Cosi fan Tutte in Salzburg that was uploaded in its entirety (in several chunks, of course) and it is not out on DVD yet. And there are entire documentaries, interviews with opera singers, and so forth.

Before I discovered Met Player I watched the whole of the Batttle/Raimondi Nozze because that was the only place to find it. Same with Domingo as Siegmund and countless other jewels not available elsewhere.
