  1. Who was this man? An hommage to Glazunov, Part I

I’m fond of studying composers as human beings. When you think about it, they weren’t anyone too spectacular. They walked streets, interacted with the world, had opinions, experiences, emotions, troubles, just like you and me. And even though they could do things that probably many of us never could do in our lifetimes, they were still real people. Not legends, not gods, not even the stuff of fiction. Just ordinary, mortal beings.
Glazunov was indeed an unusual human being, but he was

  2. Hey! I made a new Group! Please Join!

I figured it was about time I made a group for Russian composers here and put my footprint on this forum in that way. I'm going to share more in-depth things I've found in my research. I actually have a number of friends on this website called Turntable that have joined me in discovering new Russian music (we all share our own discoveries in collective sessions of music). Whatever catches my eye(ear) there, I will share here. Otherwise, the Group is for discussion and sharing. Everyone who is interested

  3. Touch: Chapter 18 (i.e. epilogue)

    6 months passed.

It was a chill winter's night in December. Some dry snow was on the ground, being swept around by the swirling breezes coming through the streets. But inside the City Concert Hall, it was warm and lively. 4. Touch: Chapter 17

Nadia returned to her empty home dejectedly. She slept poorly that night because of her racing thoughts.

"Just wait until tomorrow, then everything will be resolved," one thought would go, but other thoughts immediately followed:

"What if I've made a mistake? What if I'm just over-thinking it all? What if Andrei's intentions aren't at all what I thought they were, and he just wants to be my friend? 'Just friends' he might say. Just friends... but I don't

  5. Music-Related Rave.

Have you even experienced a time where you sorta left a composer alone, or didn't listen to a lot of their works, and now you come back to them and you love them anew? That's how I've been the last few days.

    Glazunov!

Besides Prokofiev and Shostakovich, he's my first love. Whereas the other 2 are like brilliant new and exciting acquaintances (to put that lightly), Glazunov is now a dear old friend.

Let me just share with you why I'm such an advocate
