It's somewhat bewildering to me that today was the first time I really listened to Alkan's music apart from the cello sonata. I suppose he was just one of the composers that just never really caught on with me until recently. I've listened to a few etudes of his within the last half hour or so, and they turned out to be some of the most satisfying piano pieces I've ever heard. This is my first blog. My blogs will document my musical activities and ideas. I have been practicing Beethoven's Op.14 No.2 today and can get to the end of the exposition of the first mvt. without any problems.
