  1. Letters of Historical Amusement

Kindly let me know who do you think wrote this? Readers who recognise it immediately might like to refrain, to encourage those more speculative amongst us to have a guess.

I quote from the source as follows. Enjoy!

    Madame Mutter!
    I like to eat Butter
    We are, Thank the Lord,
    Healthy and never bored.
Our trip is bright and sunny,
    Though we haven't any money;
We enjoy the company we keep,
We are not sick, we do not weep.

  2. Undeservedly obscure composers, 1: Alkan

It's somewhat bewildering to me that today was the first time I really listened to Alkan's music apart from the cello sonata. I suppose he was just one of the composers that just never really caught on with me until recently.

I've listened to a few etudes of his within the last half hour or so, and they turned out to be some of the most satisfying piano pieces I've ever heard. No. 7 ("Fire in the neighboring village") is probably my favorite so far, combining a very peaceful

  3. Blog 1

This is my first blog. My blogs will document my musical activities and ideas.

I have been practicing Beethoven's Op.14 No.2 today and can get to the end of the exposition of the first mvt. without any problems. For the rest of the day I shall occupy myself with the orchestration of Berio's 'Leaf'. It's one of four last projects I have to do as an undergraduate.

  5. My Beef regarding Robert Schumann and Johannes Brahms' music (Part 1)

Disclaimer: This is only my opinion. Air and Polednice, remember, I like you both!

    Prologue

People always told me I am close-minded. They mentioned, that once I set my mind into a ''certain thing'', it is hard to change it a bit. My sister in particular, told me ''(insert my name here), you suck!''. I can't say I agree with her, because I think, she (a brat) sucks more than I.
