We feel like we should know this one! It sounds like a sample of a standard patriotic marching band anthem. The piece the sample is derived from would have existed by 1985, 1986 at the latest. I believe it may be an English work, but may be completely off the mark.

I am hoping to find the name of this short piece of music. It is probably Russian, but I can't say for sure. (It was found in the context of a documentary about Vladimir Putin, which by the way, I recommend watching.)
In case this attachment doesn't work, the music can be found in the...
Hi everyone, this has been bugging me and I really should know what it is, but I've tried everything and I can't figure out what piece this is. It's very famous, I believe it's a march, and I think it's originally in D. I've included the introduction and most memorable 4 bars below. Your help is...

I first heard this march in the film Nothing But Trouble, in the scene where the Judge pulls open his motorized desk and wondered since then what the title of it was. Some years later, I heard it again in a video of a marching band performing a medley of various instrumentals.

After long pondering after my separation from my wife, I was inspired by scratchgolf's posting at http://www.talkclassical.com/35120-schoenberg-experiment.html and was very impressed. Schoenberg is not an easy composer to wade through singularly for a whole month.
In this vein, I have decided...
Performed for the first time in its original uncut version, this four-plus hour-long production of Guillaume Tell was the jewel in the crown of the 25-year history of the 'Rossini in Wildbad' opera festival. Rossini's final, great, operatic masterpiece, based upon the libretto by Victor Joseph...
Is it just me or does Carl Teike's Alte Kameraden March sound a little like the first movement to Quantz's Flute Concerto No. 29? Tell me if you think the two pieces sound alike. Here are Youtube videos of both compositions.
So I cannot find the name of this piece and I will describe the best that I can.
-It is a melody that is played by each section of the orchestra separately.
-The percussion keeps playing the same rhythm over and over...I know it's a march.
-It gradually builds where more and more sections of...
My dad got a master's in Music in 1955. He asked his committee if he could write a march instead of a thesis. They said they would allow it, so long as it was (a) too hard for his band to play (he was a high school band director at the time), and (b) in sonata allegro form. Dad pointed out that...
