I loved his LPs of "all" the Verdi Arias for tenor. And he was a favorite Alvaro in La Forza Del Destino in that recording with Martina Arroyo.
The Alvaro rocks! The great thing about the complete Verdi set is all the early Verdi and the other stuff he never did like Vespri.

Just wanted to mention for any Bergonzi fan not familiar with Opera Nostalgia, Jan Neckers over there is a great fan of Carlo's and writes alot about him. His "warts and all" writing style can leave you panting for a genuine compliment to come Carlo's way but you'll feel the love!

Thanks for the tip Scott! I don’t hear enough about Bergonzi.

A top 5 tenor for me. Such a beautiful voice. Not sure which recording is my favorite but I love having an excuse to revisit his work! I do have his Trovotore queued up
