In the old forum there used to be a way to jump to the first unread post by clicking on a small icon next to the thread title. Does that functionality still exist, and if so, how do I utilize it?
The following will take a few days to work properly.

Navigating Thread Listing

  • Clicking the thread title will take you to where you left off, the 1st unread post.
  • Clicking the timestamp below the title will take you to the 1st post of the thread.
  • Clicking the timestamp above the last poster user takes you to the last (newest) post.

It will take me a while to get used to the new look. And I am now looking at a lot of adverts and banners. But I will adjust, I don't really have any other option other than quitting the site altogether, and I don't want to do that. I like some of you here.

No "Locations" - now we have national flags of countries that represent the country we were in when we registered which is not always the country we're actually from.

Community is now "Off Topic Lounge" - Personally, would have preferred "Off Topic Pub"...

Can no longer tell if you've participated in a thread - The green arrow is missing from the thread topic icon.

The notification that "Messages have been posted since you loaded this page. View them?" in the thread that you're working on is a superb addition.

Formatting transfers from "Replies" posts - nice touch - appreciate that greatly.

I have the following link on my browser to display all threads with unread posts BUT exclude the games/polls thread (I have deleted the https part to avoid this software changing my content)...

...com/search.php?do=getnew&exclude=62contenttype=vBForum_Post

I am sure that there are many others with the same ... how do we do it with this new forum software?

Strange, I don't see any ads at all. Everything looks nice and clean.
I advice using uBlock Origin, that protects you against other, more nasty stuff as well.

Hey, this looks great - very appealing to the eye. Will take some getting used to, but change is always inevitable and you adapt. I like it. Didn't even know there was a premium option until I read it above! Keep up the good work.

How To Filter New Posts To Only Display Specific Section(s)

You can accomplish this by setting a custom default filter on the new posts page.

Step 1 Navigate to the specific forum you want to focus on and click "Follow Forum".

Step 2 From the navigation, near the upper right-hand corner, click on NEW.

This will open a new page of new posts for you. On the new page, click on filters.

Now you can adjust the filters to work for your personal preferences, such as the example above and save it as the default.

Make sure to click the "filter" button to save it, at the bottom.

First impressions as user, very positive. Love the dark mode. The trophies idiocy can easily be killed by setting your preferences. Great for the gaming community is the warning that someone else has meanwhile posted while you were typing your response.

QUESTION: there used to be the option to choose the number of posts displayed per page. Can't find that in the new layout.

I would certainly be willing to become a premium member but only if it means NO ads, not just "reduced" ads as the premium membership blurb promises.

It will display on yur profile and when someone hovers over your avatar in a thread.

I will post a tutorial shortly regarding how to add your location.

Oh, I like that idea a lot!

Can no longer tell if you've participated in a thread - The green arrow is no longer on the thread topic icon.
If you are automatical following threads you participate in, you will see a Following tag within NEW and Popular.

The "Participated Discussions" section of "Following" is an absolute mess - Every rubbish thread that I've ever participated in (including my own) is in there - There needs to be a way to delete those long dead threads.

I will pass this feedback on to the developers.

If you click on your logo, you'll see a "Trophies" section - It's really kind of hilarious - Apparently I'm both "Seriously likeable" and members "Can't get enough of your stuff" - 😅 - Even I don't believe that and I'm actually "me".

This is something we are actively working on improving.

Your example works if I want to follow a sub-forum, what I want is to exclude it from the new posts listing, i.e. "Show all new posts from all forums & sub-forums EXCEPT from this sub-forum." If I click on 'follow forum', it does not give me the option of disabling everything.

The reason it says reduced is that if your site has a vendor, they can post their offers in their section. We also occasionally will be doing giveaways.

Unfortunately, that is not yet an option. It is something we have been discussing with the developers though.

FYI ... There was a considerable outcry when games became the single largest new threads in the general classical section. The solution was to create a sub-forum for them and to give us a way of seeing all new threads except from the games/polls.
