I saw a semi-staged production of Dear World back in 2017 (had to look the date up). It was presented by the York Theatre Company and starred Tyne Daly. I recall it being pretty loony.
I read the The Madwoman of Chaillot, the play on which it's based, about 50 years ago (i.e. around the time the musical and a Katherine Hepburn film based on the play were produced). As I recall, that was rather loony as well.Agreed, but is the story line any more loony than "Urinetown"?
