I made a post, noticed a typo and wanted to correct it, but apparently I am too dumb to figure out how to edit posts...
We have instances where someone posted information claiming it was indeed fact and impossible to refute, or so they said.I've never understood why the editing function is time limited, And the big one: the inability to delete a post.
This is done primarily to stop spammers, or potential spammers who usually post one word answers like "nice", "wow", etc testing to see if the system accepts their posts.. . . and the minimum number of characters requirement for posts. Sometimes I only want to say something shorter than that and end up having to input a bunch of dots.
Allowed file extensions are: 3gpp bmp doc docx gif jpe jpeg jpg mid mov mp3 mp4 mpg pdf png psd rtf swf txt wav wmv zipDo others have trouble with image links, being told it isn't an image file when it is, or that the link is too long?
We encourage links for that reason. We are not allowed to save images and upload them unless you are the copyright holder, which is never the case for me.
In every case when one of my image links is rejected it is a jpeg file. I usually try several different images, but after three tries I just abandon the post.Allowed file extensions are: 3gpp bmp doc docx gif jpe jpeg jpg mid mov mp3 mp4 mpg pdf png psd rtf swf txt wav wmv zip
To include an image that is not uploaded as an attachment and is located on another website, you can do so by copying the full URL to the image, (not the page on which the image is located), and either pressing the 'Insert Image' icon or by typingafter it, ensuring that you do not have any spaces before or after the URL of the image.

If it's copyrighted, just link to it ... simple.
Please make sure that the images you are linking to in this way have a reasonable size - you cannot change the size, so if the image is huge it will be shown as a huge image in your post. As a rule of thumb, images should not be larger than 1000 pixels for the largest side.
Also consider the type of site that you are going to link to. Sites like Wikipedia and Amazon will normally not delete or change the pictures they host, but less known sites may do so - resulting in your picture disappearing over time, or even worse, being replaced by something different, including porn.
For sites like that, we would suggest you download the image, and upload it to an image hosting site, which will generate an url you can use. There are a number of options, for instance https://postimages.org/ - which also gives you the option to resize during uploading. You can then use thecommand as outline above.
"This is not a valid image file" means it fails the security checks in vBulletin. The file could have non-image code within its metadata. It could be stored with an improper extension. In every case when one of my image links is rejected it is a jpeg file. I am on another site that (different forum software) when you click the image icon, instead of a popup, it simply pastesUnfortunately, no. I have proposed the same a couple of times before I became a mod, but it is not possible.
Just use themethod and everything is fine.
No problem. The TC software is good as it will post videos. I often cannot get a video to post on that other site.I picked out the essential part.
I am or have been on many different sites, and many have that type of system. The TC software unfortunately does not and cannot be customized.
