Parsifal: "Am I a joke to you?"
Also omitted from the recent Wagner at the Met CD set. Are we seeing the start of a trend here?

But of course Parsifal is the only one that Opus Arte doesn't already have in a Bayreuth video.

Partial credits for the new box, as given on Opus Arte's website:

^ Awesome! Just what the world needed is another Freischutz DVD as there are not a lot of good ones out there. Also Nylund will be great.

Parsifal
Bayreuth, 1951
Wolfgang Windgassen, George London, Hermann Uhde, Martha Mödl
Weird enough. I thought Teldec, and so Warner, was in charge of the Original Telefunken Masters (as is the fantastic Keilberth Lohengrin). Maybe they have traded the license for the Furtwängler Studio tapes.

Teldec released them previously, but who knows where Decca have transferred the 1951 Parsifal from. I suspect that Warner has licensed the rights to Decca (part of Universal) just as DG (also part of Universal) licensed the rights in their Furtwaengler recordings to Warner as you say.
