Thanks. I will take a look at that Bernstein box, which I had not seen before. It might have to wait a little though, while I digest this new purchase. Snapped up sealed as a reasonable deal on ebay. It is not the "new" complete edition, but my understanding is that there is not much extra in the more recent edition. I am very happy to add it to my collection together with the Chailly box.A marvelous set and, IMHO, a must for all fellow Stravinskians.
Another recently issued Stravinsky set that is a must is this Bernstein one:

Good Lord, I had now idea that box was so large. Looks like 104 CDs. Hope you enjoy it!Decided to put some of my tax refund to good use:
John Eliot Gardiner - Complete Recordings on Archiv Produktion and Deutsche Grammophon. (Yes, I consider John Eliot Gardiner 'good use.') While I do already own some of Gardiner's recordings, the duplication is modest. I was particularly keen on getting his Mozart operas.

Thanks. While the published specs indicate that this box set includes 104 Cds, it's actually 105. I am very eager to start with all the Mozart operas.Good Lord, I had now idea that box was so large. Looks like 104 CDs. Hope you enjoy it!
105 CDs. During the peak of the CD era, Gardiner was a big recording star for DG/Archiv, and this box set does't even include his recordings for Philips, Erato and Soli Deo Gloria.Wow... That's a massive box set. How many discs?
I own that Stravinsky Complete Edition on DG as well (the exact one you bought). I bought it way before the New Edition came out. It's a great set as well.Thanks. I have the (mere) 22 CD set of the recorded legacy, so much more modest. I don't know the difference between them, apart from the fact that it is obviously a heck of a lot of extra discs!I own that Stravinsky Complete Edition on DG as well (the exact one you bought). This one on Warner Classics is also rather good:

Of course, for me, the ultimate Stravinsky set in my collection is The Complete Columbia Album Collection on Sony:

I actually own this set, too. 😊 I also got it for free, because the seller didn't include the cardboard outer case or maybe he lost it --- I don't remember, but it did have the hardshell casing that went inside of the cardboard outer case. So that was nice to have, but all of the discs, artwork etc. were in immaculate shape. I then ran across that Columbia Album Collection box set and it was discounted I believe on Amazon at the time, so I jumped on it. One of the best purchases I've ever made. Mostly what this set includes that The Recorded Legacy set doesn't are the mono recordings plus some rare Craft-conducted performances that have never seen a CD release before. Anyway, you've got a great set and I wouldn't worry too much about the Columbia Album Collection set unless you can find for a good price. Everything has been remastered again for this set and it sounds amazing, but, honestly, so do those Recorded Legacy recordings.I have the (mere) 22 CD set of the recorded legacy, so much more modest. My copy of the cardboard outer case is also mislaid, annoyingly. Might some of that Craft stuff appear also in the forthcoming box of his Columbia recordings?I actually own this set, too. 😊 I also got it for free, because the seller didn't include the cardboard outer case or maybe he lost it --- I don't remember, but it did have the hardshell casing that went inside of the cardboard outer case. I'm not sure. I'm aware of the Craft Columbia box set coming out, but I don't know what its contents will be, but I'm going to make the assumption that these Stravinsky recordings he made will be included if it is, indeed, all of his Columbia recordings in one box.My copy of the cardboard outer case is also mislaid, annoyingly.
