On average, how many hours a day do you spend listening to classical music? If you know how many hours great, but if not, estimate reasonably. Also, do you feel satisfied, or dissatisfied with the amount of time you spend listening to CM. Do you wish you could listen for a bit more than you currently do?

I ask because I've never really paid attention to the amount of time I spend listening to classical music throughout the day until very recently. Your thoughts on the matter are appreciated.

I usually have an earbud in all the time around the house and out and about, even hiking. When I drive my own vehicle alone, it's the CD player. At work, I don't listen much though.

Two hours for me on average. Not satisfied. Too many things to do in a day. A lot of reading plus I'm a political junkie.

I need a 36 hour day, minimum.

Good poll,indeed,I think 5 hours is a minimum at the moment.A few years ago I did not listen to music at all.I did not miss it and sold all my LP's.Too much occupied with other things.For a period of about 5 years I did not listen to music but it was not out of my head.On a day I started again and my days are again filled with music as it was before.I am while I listen to music searching and reading about music.I had periods that I mainly listened to early music,renaissance and Baroque.

I can still enjoy this one wich was a revelation when I first heard it many many years ago.

I get 5+ hours a day, but very little is dedicated listening. I listen on earbud while doing other things. Like you, I got out of music for a long time (about 15 years) and then came back to it.

Right now - all day and all night long, with sleeping and eating breaks. I don't post much of my listening in the current listening thread because most of it is the same stuff I posted many times before. Am I satisfied? You bet!

But the way it usually was, is two-three hours a day.

When I was younger (15-25), lots and lots (probably 4-5+).
As I have gotten older less and less. Now (mid-60s) better measured in hours/wk., but I have something going on in my head for roughly half of my waking hours.

Well, I'm a piano teacher, so I'm paid to listen to classical music for several hours a day. That's the good thing about my job. The downside is that most of it is played badly and I'm expected to fix it!

It depends of the period, but I would say two hours a day on average are reserved for classical.
