Let's move away from politics! After all there have been plenty of very cultured despots and crooks whose cultural tastes tell us nothing about their natures. So, how about the Japanese novelist Haruki Murakami? His novels tend each to have a classical piece that is regularly invoked as the story progresses. Usually he also specifies the recording he has in mind.
