This is the fourth of the "Great Composers" series of games which will comprise six separate classical music eras -

Medieval & Renaissance

Baroque

Classical

Romantic

20th and 21st centuries - Contemporary, Modern, & Postmodern

Each of the above eras will initially be played as self-contained units in the standard format of Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals, and a Final.

Upon completing a Final round for each of the six eras, a combined era series of games will be played in an attempt to determine a consensus.

The rules -

Each player may choose 2 selections per day until we've reached a limit of between 32 and 48 composers

which will allow us to play 2 to 3 Semi-Final games of 16 composers each.

Refer to these two lists -

which starts with Jacopo Peri and ends with Giovanni Battista Pergolesi

and -

No selections before Peri as they will appear on the Medieval & Renaissance series of games and no selections after Johann Adolph Hasse as the names which follow on this list made their appearance in the Classical Era series.

If you're not sure whether or not your selection has been played in the Classical Era series of games - use this list - If the composer's name is on the list, they are not eligible for this competition -

I will provide an updated "List of selections made so far..."
