The Great Conductors - All-Star Extravaganza Edition - Game Discussion Thread
The decision to use the word "Great" rather than "Greatest" was intentional.
We are endeavoring to express the perception of "greatness" within this multiplicity of conductors
rather than as a means of identifying and labeling an individual artist.
The intended concept is an attempt to represent and judge those conductors who have elevated craftmanship into true artistry.
The Format -
6 Quarter-Final games of 25 conductors with the 8 receiving the highest point totals from each moving on
to one of two Semi-Final games of 24 with 10 to 12 from each moving on to the Final.
The Rules -
1.) You may vote once per calendar day.
2.) There must be a separation of at least six hours between votes cast on one day and those following on the next calendar day.
2.) You will have a total of 20 points to distribute per entry with a maximum of 5 per individual conductor.
3.) Play will end with the first conductor to reach 150 points.
Note: Based upon the number of players, both the Semi-Final and Final games may be increased to 200 points.
Note: You are welcome to comment upon any and all aspects of this competition provided such commentary is directed to this thread...
There are a total of 150 conductors represented which is 70 more than the first "Great Conductors" competition which I created over two years ago.
The competition is fully curated with 6 groups of 25 conductors each
With the exception of this first game, the conductors will not be named in advance - They will be revealed with the introduction of each new game
No questions regarding their identities will be answered - You'll just have to content yourself with savouring the anticipation -
"The Great Conductors - All-Star Extravaganza Edition" - Group A will be making its appearance on Monday, May 22 at approximately 6 am CST
