This song and its lyrics are spoiled, contradicted, or at least transformed into something else, by any sort of obvious sophistication or messing around. It isn't just sentimental memories of TV's annual broadcast of the movie that keeps me from putting any other attempt alongside Judy Garland's. Connie Francis and Melissa Manchester are respectable, but I don't know which I'd place second, so I think I'll just vote for Dorothy and Toto and leave it at that.
