With enormous thanks to Wood Duck, I have just found the 1970 recording of Attila (2 CD's) hidden amongst the collection of goodies he sold me many years ago. I have not played it before this simply because it was buried among many others in my collection.
This is an under-recorded opera but this one features many of the great performers of the 70''s not the least of which are Raimondi, Stella, Guelfi and Cecchele under the inspired direction of Ricardo Muti.
There are many reviews on the Internet, mostly highly favorable but with a couple of criticisms of Stella lacking "charisma". It may not be Verdi's greatst opera but I loved it.
