I've had this tune in my head for many years. A couple years ago I realized I didn't know what game it was in or what the original was called and it has been driving me mad ever since. I'm pretty sure that it is a classical piece that the game developers used. Maybe someone here will recognize it?

It reminds me an old tune which was used by Luchino Visconti in his film "Death in Venice". Not a classical piece anyway, but a popular song. In this film it is sung by a street band towards the end of it
