Welcome to a series of games devoted to one year in the history of music!
This series is a prequel to the successful "What's another year" games, created by Art Rock, based on an idea by Shaughnessy, and which covers the years 1919-2018.
The present series has the exact same set up, with one game for every year, eventually followed by a series of semi-final and final rounds. The years covered are 1819-1918, a steam powered age filled to the rim with romantic music!
The games (years) are run in randomized order. This game (game 94) is the year 1844. The next game will be the year 1821.
See the discussion thread for more info and comments.
Each game will have a nomination phase and a game phase (in one thread).
You can nominate one composition per day, from the year that is the game year. Eligible compositions are those that have been completed in the game year. As soon as we have sixteen works, the game will start. If you do not intend to play the game, please do not nominate.
Ladies and Gentlemen... start your steam engines!
