I agree about Johann Strauss II, his works are very expressive and colourful, with a very lively, bright atmosphere. His father and brother Eduard composed very powerful, cheerful music too; instead Josef is more introspective, poetical and slightly melancholic compared to the rest of the Strauss Family.

Here is a poem to celebrate Strauss:

The Sun Never Sets at the Ball

Dressed in a brightly colored gown,
Gwendolyn Gaines arrived at the ball.
Scanning her peers,
she spotted a man
by the name of Huppert Hughs.

Escorting him to the floor,
the quartet playing beautifully,
they engaged in a fanciful Waltz.

Performing exquisitely,
she thanked Mr. Hughs
for a pleasurable time.
Receptive, Huppert bowed.

Continuing in this way
for the duration of the event,
Gwendolyn’s spirits were lifted.

Returning to her abode,
Gwendolyn spoke these words
to her father:

The sun never sets at the ball,
it is a transcendent experience.

Which Composers Made the Happiest Music?
For me, that's easy: Haydn; especially the symphonies in the hands of Leonard Bernstein during his earlier years when he was with Columbia records and the New York Philharmonic Orchestra.

I'll go with Haydn, although the first work that popped into my head (or more accurately my ears) was Duke Of Iron by Sonny Rollins.

GREAT call. I love J. Haydn. There is a simplicity and humbleness about him with a sense of subtle confidence I love.

Agreed! Haydn. I like the Antal Dorati recordings of Haydn symphonies; Adam Fischer if you want to go alpha to omega. Very lighthearted are his baryton trios.
I would put Boccherini as close second to Haydn, though.

This is probably my favourite happy song /track. Chabrier's Espana. Sounds just on the edge of losing control sometimes to me.
