It's conceivable that where we have a singer like Ponselle whose career spanned improvements in recording technology - in her case all the way to the Villa Pace home recordings - we could make the earlier recordings sound much like the later. I think we can expect someone to try that.

Haven't stayed with this thread but I want to comment on the title.....I've NEVER found Woodduck unduly critical! He's fearless in explaining why he feels the way he does and he's passionate. And I know he likes to be closely read! I particularly enjoy him when he agrees with me, BUT......... I always look forward to reading him, as I know you do SOF!!!
