I add Schoenberg to that.

 

Schnittke, Schmitt, and Schubert (with Schoenberg not far behind).

 

No offense to Schoenberg or Schnittke or any of the others, but the German Romantic "sch" guys are my favorites! My very favorite "sch" composer is Schubert, followed closely by Schumann.

 

The find the American Schuman to be quite good too. Schubert, Schumann, and Schuman for me.

 

Normally would have gone for Schubert but recently been following Schumann and the more I listen to his compositions, the more I love him!

 

The American Schuman wrote a ballet named Judith. It doesn't mean that you'll like it, but you should give it a listen!

I like Schuman better than Schumann, and Schmidt better than Schmitt.

 

Schoenberg, Schubert, Schutz, Schumann, Schuman. I'd probably select Schnittke if I paid more attention to his music.

Why isn't there more love for Schutz around here? His music is a lot of fun (with the exception of those bare-instrumentated pieces written during the war). If you like the Gabrielis, you'll like Schutz. Brahms even gave him a shout-out in one of his motets.
