I just got the book Chalet Monet from the library and it's breathtaking. If there is any continued interest I will post more pictures. It's a breathtaking book. The panorama of Lake Geneva is their view!
That flat has lots of style!Ravel's Villa at Montfort, south of Paris, is a more subdued and smaller version, and has much less stuff too. He didn't have the money to buy objects in those quantities, and probably also preferred more visual clarity:

Maurice Ravel's House in Montfort l'Amaury | Chiara Colombini
A succession of tiny, almost dolls-house like rooms featuring their original wallpaper...www.chiaracolombini.com
You can take a girl away from Kubán, but not Kubán from a girl. You are having signs of Stockholm syndrome.
Anna’s bubble-gum apartment goes to show that bad taste is not unique to past divas. Gotta give Anna that at least she is not part of the limitless clutter gaudy movement, just simply gaudy...![]()
I had thought like this while I visited house of Marquesa Lebrija (if I remember the name correctly) in Córdoba.Wouldn't you literally kill to own this place?
Why, do interiors in Kubán look like Barbie's brothel? You can take a girl away from Kubán, but not Kubán from a girl.
I didn't know this, had to google it (you spelled it perfectly). I think @Seattleoperafan will probably appreciate it.I had thought like this while I visited house of Marquesa Lebrija (if I remember the name correctly) in Córdoba.
It is wonderful. The bottom room is really beautiful to walk through but i would not want to sit on anything in the room. Why, do interiors in Kubán look like Barbie's brothel?

Indeed, it looks like you'd end up covered in dust and moths! It is wonderful. The bottom room is really beautiful to walk through but i would not want to sit on anything in the room.
Kubán as a region is nothing special. It's just Southern, vivid, but provincial. I meant a certain degree of vulgarity. It might be picturesque, but me and my family and friends usually consider it excessive and call it gypsy barocco. It's less pink and barbiesque, pretends to look rich with all its drapery and heavy furniture and shabby paintings, glass and potiches. Real Wiener Kitsch looks like something exquisite and refined compared to it.Why, do interiors in Kubán look like Barbie's brothel?

I would prefer this in a majority of blue, not yellow. I'm don't prefer yellow and orange. If it were mainly blue, turquoise, and blue-green it would do for me.That made my morning💘. There are some designers who are maximalists that I adore but they never do well with my Facebook crowd. I never learn 🤣 Sig Bergamin is a maximalist who I enjoy. View attachment 194343
Le vault d'or est toujours deboutThis is somebody's Manhattan High Rise. I love the maximalist modern look with the gold leaf ceiling and warm plushy comfy feel!
