I love them all, but the D minor one (No. 6) is a very special work, monumental in its scope. So my vote goes for that one!

All six are favorites of mine. However, if I must choose (and that's the whole point of a poll!), I'll go with No. 5. I love its harmonic and rhythmic variety. Also, I love its variety of dance types, including two Passepieds (one of which is in the parallel major, a key change which further enhances the tonal color and contrast).

I keep on asking why is Bach so loved. Something must be wrong with me. I'm sorrounded by Bach lovers and I admit his music must be great, but I'm usually bored when attempting to pay a close attention to it. Sorry guys!!

 

No problem. There is so much music out there, you don't have to like all of it. Of course, one day you may wake up and find that it suddenly clicks with you. The nice thing about classical music is, it lasts a lifetime.

 

I like the A Major with its beautiful, stately Sarabande and sparkling Bourrée (hard to select any of the Suites Anglaises over the others) and only if HIP-informed (all repeats with ornamentation of repeats) on a properly restored harpsichord or replica thereof by someone like Blandine Rannou.

Same here. I don't think I'd want to hear Scriabin on harpsichord.
