I have heard it on the radio. And after a few more songs sung by the same voice, the dj said that these songs were composed by an Italian composer. And I heard a "Shirley" name. But I'm not sure if it's this soloist's name.

I have a compilation consisting of 10 CDs arranged by the eras between early baroque and 20th century. After reading the first 2 answers I've taken a look at that compilation and find the Shirley Rumsey in the first CD but that wasn't the song I've posted. I came here to post the singer's name, and saw your post. Thanks very much. She is my favourite as from now. And this song is touching. It's frustrating not to know the name of a song that you've heard and like very much.
Wow, that is such lovely singing!!! She'll have to become my favourite singer now too. (I don't usually like singing, especially if they're sopranos, but this is lovely!).
